Evesham Township is proud to be among the 46 New Jersey municipalities and schools selected to receive funding through the 2024 Sustainable Jersey Grants Program, as funded by the PSEG Foundation!
Evesham Township is one of just seven recipients to be awarded grant funding in the amount of $20,000, which is the largest grant amount to be offered.
Evesham Township’s funding will be put toward various stormwater management initiatives, such as a native tree planting and community rain barrel program. Evesham Township will be partnering on this new initiative with the Pinelands Preservation Alliance and Rutgers Cooperative Extension.
Sustainable Jersey and the PSEG Foundation presented the grant on May 29 during a ceremony at The College of New Jersey.
Accepting the grant award on behalf of Evesham Township was Evesham Township Councilwoman Heather Cooper, who also serves as Council Liaison to the Evesham Environmental Commission, as well as Craig Higginbotham, who serves as Chair of the Environmental Commission, and Kevin Rijs, who serves as Evesham Township’s Director of Community Development.
Evesham Township believes this new funding will further support other similar projects in town, such as the township’s successful rain garden installations.
In addition to the various $20,000 grants awarded at the ceremony, there were 11 grants in the amount $10,000 and 28 grants in the amount of $2,000 as distributed to recipients across 17 New Jersey counties.
Thank you again to Sustainable Jersey and the PSEG Foundation for helping Evesham Township become even more environmentally friendly and institute even more new sustainable practices.
