Senior Citizen Advisory Committee hosting FREE Brunch & Learn program with Samaritan Life Enhancing Care on April 24

Evesham Township’s Senior Citizen Advisory Committee is hosting a free Brunch & Learn program with Samaritan Life Enhancing Care on Thursday, April 24 at 11 a.m.

The event will take place at the Gibson House Community Center at 535 E. Main St.

Part One of the program will focus on Caregivers and Dementia, as presented by Christina Rubano, LCSW. Issues covered will include:

• Simplifying Communication

• Creating a safe environment

• Establish routine and engagement

• Using positive language

• Prioritize emotional support and caregiver wellbeing

Part Two of the program will focus on Volunteer Opportunities at Samaritan, as presented by Erika Thomas. Points to be covered will include:

• Social Connections

• Volunteering you can do from home

• Social isolation and the importance of connection

• Impact of Robotic Pet Companions for patience with Dementia

A free continental breakfast sponsored by the Senior Advisory Committee will be served during the event.
